Is Tifinagh written from right to left?
No. Modern Neo-Tifinagh, standardized by IRCAM, is written from left to right like the Latin alphabet. Ancient writing could run in both directions, but the modern standard is left to right.
Is this a perfect translation?
No. Tifinagh was built for Tamazight, which has sounds English and Arabic do not share. This tool gives a phonetic approximation, not a native speaker's translation.
Why are there no pronunciations?
Teaching pronunciation requires teaching Tamazight phonetics. We would rather say nothing than teach something wrong. For pronunciation resources, visit IRCAM at ircam.ma.
Does the site save what I type?
